Suggestions
After playing for a bit I have a few suggestions for the game. This are just my thoughts and ideas. I obviously know you can't do them all or might have some already in development. Just trying to help!
Things to add
- A mailbox system would be neat. It would use the paper milling to make letters you could put in people's mailbox. People could use it to order items when someone is not on and they are not sure what to stock in the store. I know there are signs but this way it's a private order.
- Paper milling could also have a packing plant that doubles the storage a truck can hold by boxing up your goods.
- I would love to have some crates with food in them for decoration or storage! Barrels open or closed. With visuals for grains.
- A horse that can transport stuff with saddle bags and pull a cart. Would make it nice for running over to different farms and over hills. But to use the cart the player would need roads.
- Tailors should be able to make outfits for the different professions that makes them more efficient.
- Food trucks and wagons you can sell from.
- Outfits for fashion or function. You want more pockets try these new cargo pants. The pockets have pockets!
- A checkbox or way to prioritize your personal bank accounts vs having to look through the huge list of everyone's credit.
- A gathering backpack for early game when you can't use a wheelbarrow. Maybe four slots? Would be useful to farmers trying to get crops setup.
- Once Cities are setup with districts maybe they could pick bonuses to be the best at producing that item so cities have a reason to trade with each other?
- Silos and grain elevators would be a great addition to the game for farmers!
- Gems could be a cool addition that can be made into jewelry that gives bonuses to professions.
- A ledger for what people are buying and selling.
- Fruit trees would be awesome!
- Greenhouse
- Compost bin that holds a lot of fertilizer.
- The ability to place water so we can have man made lakes!
- Signs that fit over a two door entrance.
- NPC could really help the game. They would only appear if the Mayor puts out a sign requesting a job people are not doing so that if you have no smelter that role gets filled. The prices should be really high to encourage players to take over the role and the NPC would eventually leave due to no business. Some of the issue is some roles people don't want to take or people are not selling what is needed. It's hard to rely on players to keep the economy going cause of a lot of them quit.
- Paint and wallpaper.
- Rent out trucks.
- An industry item that lets you sit in a bucket and drive it so you can build easier and see what you are doing or scaffolding.
- A 4 square statue to help place somethings more evenly.
Things that could use some work/balancing
- Farmers: The land should become un-tilled after harvesting so the tractor tools could get more use. Once the farms are all made you wouldn't need it anymore. They also need more items to make money off of starting out like decoration items. Some crates and barrels would be nice for restaurants or stores.
- Cooks/butchery need to have a tool cost like pots and pans, a cutting board, or knifes with durability. They have little outgoing costs and end up money hording. Make them have to actually cook or cut veggies.
