USER ISSUE: Objects not interactable

Steps to Reproduce: After a few hours playing on the solo game, some objects lose their interaction : an animal can be hunted and killed but it is not collectable. Same thing with a tree and after breaking ores. This is not a gameplay problem, collectable objects just seem to bug with the landscape and the player. Some objects go under the landscape or it can be kicked by the player At first it happens on a few objects, but after a few hours of play most of the objects become uncollectable. This problem has appeared every time I play for a long time (> 5h) and it disappears if I quit the game and start again (the objects that were not collectable before become available after restart)

Expected behavior: Objects should always be collectable.

Actual behavior: Objects are bugging with the landscape after a few hours of play.

Do you have mods installed? Does the issue happen when no mods are installed?: No mods installed, vanilla Steam version with the last update.

@Eyolfur Thank you for the report. You have a video card that is below the acceptable minimum system requirements. However, the problem is still in your log. At least you have relatively few exceptions, but apparently because your computer is not good, this is enough for this effect to appear. But we have some other reports about the same behavior. I will use this issue like investigation and we should check it for a new 0.9.3 staging build. Most likely, a large number of exceptions will lead (although some are repeated) to this break down. So we have to try to fix it one by one. So we need some more logs file.

Steps to Reproduce: Play enough that you start having 30ish frames, and the lighting stops working/becomes bugged. Carts/Cars and doors can then be walked through, non interactable and carts/cars will be pushable, non interactable. Leaving the server and reconnecting doesn't fix. (Atleast that's whats happening to me). Only restarting the game fixes the issue. This only happened because of recent patches, was not a problem before 9.2 was released.

Expected behavior: Even if playing for a long time, i should still be able to interact with doors, carts and cars and not be allowed to push them around, like ragdolls.

Actual behavior: Cars, carts and doors become uninteractable, Carts/cars becomes ragdolls and cannot be interacted with. (But other players can). For them, they are still affected by the cart/truck/door.

Do you have mods installed? Does the issue happen when no mods are installed?: No Mods, This only happens for the client, other people can only witness the chaos, not partake.

I forgot to mention, but Animals has a similar behavior. If they get killed and get stuck, and get teleported, they will also go into a ragdoll state, in which i cannot pick them up, only push them around like a ragdoll.

But whats wierd, is itll go off and on, sometimes it'll let me interact and i cannot push, but then it happens again. so it doesnt seem constant. But still a bug, that is 100% trollable if not fixed.

I'm happy more are having the same issue. Whenever this happens, i am also able to push other Player's carts/Vehicles like the steam truck around with ease, even if i'm not authorized to interact with them. Other player's can see this happen, and if i push a truck towards another player, they will still be pushed by it. They can still interact with it and can stand on top of it. While if i try to do so, i'll just fall through and the truck just gets stuck in my body for awhile. The truck will still be where you pushed it last, if you restart the game. So it's not a visual glitch.

#20403 Looks a little another, but seems the reason the same, because player have a big exceptions in log.

Steps to Reproduce: My wooden carts locations keep re-setting to 0.0.0 and they end up stuck underground. Happened 2 times on the default map I'm currently playing and 1 time on a different randomly generated map. Not sure about the randomly generated map but on the map I'm currently playing the cart has been inside my mine underground when they teleport. The mine shafts are 3 blocks wide by 5 blocks high. With stone road slopes for flooring. Right before it happened the first time all my carts (got about 10) stopped being interactable, movable, removable and I could just push them around by walking into them. A game restart fixed it but my first cart ended up underground at 0.0.0 and the 2nd cars ended up there randomly.

Expected behavior: Not end up underground if location re-set was needed or not teleport at all. Or have a way to reset their location to the surface so they can be retrieved.

Actual behavior: Carts are sent to 0.0.0 and are un retrievable and stuck underground.

Do you have mods installed? Does the issue happen when no mods are installed?: no mods. fully stock and basic game.

Thanks @SlayksWood for your investigation. I should precise it doesn't only appears with carts but more with animals, chopped trees and stone cuts. Issue 20467 is very close to my problem, so items are ragdolls but it can be interactable finally (e.g I insisted a lot on Iron Ores and it eventually worked)

Here is my last log, although I think it has nothing new, I didn't interact a lot with objects Player.log

In another attempt to play the game, I realized problems arrived when the game was consuming around 3.6 Go of RAM (which is approx. the max for a 32 bit Windows application with large adresses). Would it be because my bad GPU translates the memory allocation to the RAM until it is too much ?

This glitch/bug cannot be a Client issue alone as other people on the server i was on, could also see it happen, even if they just joined and had perfect FPS. I was able to push things, and make a difference that other people could notice. If it was my PC's fault, then it should of only been me that could see it and not any of the others.

Have a couple of updates. Had both of the carts randomly re appear near the original locations. One ended up suck in the ceiling of the mine and other just upside-down near where I last left it. I have since had another cart go to 0.0.0 but not sure which one or where I originally left it. Been keeping them out of the mine thinking the underground enclosed space had something to do with it.

I think my issue is related to the loading and unloading of chunks (not sure what you guys call it but I know that's what's it's called in Minecraft) I feel like if a cart is left on the edge of a chunk when it spawns in from loading if the chunk next to it isn't loaded in fast enough it falls out of the world then teleports but instead of just going to the surface like when I'm driving a steam truck and the chunks don't load fast enough they get sent to 0.0.0

The carts losing their interaction hasn't happened again. But that seemed like it was the start of where my carts started disappearing and now sometimes reappearing. (the reappearing has me baffled) I'm also playing solo. It almost feels like the game is having an issue keeping track of the carts. The first game i had over 100 carts and I think I only had 1 teleport. The 2nd one I'm currently playing trying to keep it under 10. and had a bunch go back and forth apparently.

Steps to Reproduce: left my small wood cart alone while I traveled over to help my friend, When I came back i wasn't able to pick up or access the small wood cart. When I walked into it it just slid around.��I used admin controls to give myself another one, and the same thing happend but I wasn't able to use it right away. The new cart was also bugged.

I put a third new cart on my property and was able to use it, but as soon as let go of, it is unusable

Expected behavior: I should be able to pick up the cart and access the storage

Actual behavior: Slides around, can't pick up or access

My friend was still able to interact with the cart in the video. Also i wasnt able to collect any dead animals, however my friend was. The issue was resolved after I closed the game (not going into the main menu), and restarting the game. Ah forgot to add; This only happening after I stopped interacting with a hand cart. However this wasn't the first time I've interacted with one

Steps to Reproduce: It happens ~10 hours, after frequent interactions with a vehicle (pushing it around and such) in singleplayer the vehicle becomes lightweight and harder to interact with

Expected behavior: Inventory section (such as truckbed, back of cart ect.) should be highlighted in green allowing for the opening of the vehicle inventory UI

Actual behavior: The highlight doesnt appear, and when the curser is over the inventory section of a vehicle it acts as if the vehicle doesnt exist. The only way to interact with it is to find a very small area that might allow you to interact (such as small parts of the bottom of the bed, rear wheels ect) Do you have mods installed? Does the issue happen when no mods are installed?: NO. Im currently playing in vanilla singleplayer

Hi,

I haven't had the same issue with wooden carts yet, but I have encountered it with other objects.

Once while hunting I killed a Buffalo, and notched another arrow incase I missed, then I couldn't pick it up. It just pushed around wildly on the ground.

Second time I was driving my steam truck into town (~500m from my property) and I saw an elk, I jumped out of my truck and head shot the elk. I couldn't pick it up, then when I tried to get back into my steam truck it was the same issue. Just pushing my truck around wildly, no option to interact.

I can attest to this. On our playtest server. Encountered it about 5 times now. Playing long sessions causes some vehicles to be uninteractable objects. My last encounter was when we were making a road. I was scooping some crushed granite. I moved all the crushed granite from Stockpile to Cart. Then I went AFK a bit to relieve myself. Went back and can't interact with the Cart. It moves like a weightless object. Had to reconnect for it to get fixed. Build: 0.9.3.3 Release-219

We've been encountering this bug on our current world, which was launched this past Friday. Several players, (myself included), have been having issues with it as well. Exiting the server and rejoining seems to fix the problem.

Steps to Reproduce: After having game launched for a long time some entities start to not work properly, for example carts, doors, elevators. I cant interact with them, and hitboxes start work weirdly like falling trough elevator or cart get some ragdoll-looklike phisics, plus picking up rocs begin a bit harder to hit hitbox or cant even cut log of wood it just is there and move if i move into it.

Yes today it happened with 2 cart and excavator, i just remember it stopped working when excavator fell on side or my buddies didnt experience it but i host the server, maybe this could help.

I left my vehicle (powered car) for about 15 minutes, and when I came back it was not interactable and I could push it around like it was paper. This happened to me at least 5 times in my 2 days playing the game with my wooden carts.

Version: 0.9.4.1 beta release-242 Steps to Reproduce: Not sure, it just happens at some point. It happened before and fixed itself. Logging out of my friend's dedicated server doesn't fix the issue. Expected behavior: I should be able to interact with logs and carts, and they shouldn't be pushed around like they are weightless. Actual behavior: I can't access cart inventory or pull them. I can't chop logs or pick them up, and I can push them through terrain. I can walk into both objects and they push without resistance like normal. I can also walk through doors like they don't exist. Do you have mods installed? Does the issue happen when no mods are installed?: No, I haven't played with mods either.

Steps to Reproduce: This is the second vanilla 9.4.1 server I've experienced this, and once it starts it stays like this for a while or until I've restarted the game, though I can't quite remember how it's played out before. This time I tried disconnected and reconnecting but it didn't fix it. It seems to crop up of the blue with no cause I can work out. I had flux running at the time to dim the screen, on this occasion at least, but whether that could interfere I have no idea.

Expected behavior: Vehicles should give access to the storage, cab, etc, and not be pushed around easily. There shouldn't be any auth problems placing on unclaimed land either.

Actual behavior: In this case a truck, but on the other server it was with a wood cart, became almost weightless, which results in being able to push them around no trouble but can't interact with them. I can still access the storage through other nearby objects however. After enough time or pushing around I can usually pick the vehicle up again (though it is still weightless), but when I come to place it it either says I need auth even where there is no property, or it becomes weightless again immediately.

Before it occurred this time, I noticed that an animal I had hunted couldn't be picked up or interacted with and was virtually weightless, so I went back to the truck and found that also bugged out in the same way. The problems with a cart on the other server, from what I remember, only happened straight after I placed a cart and then only seldom were there problems.

I can place the truck down again in some areas but not others, since the auth blocks some areas off with no apparent rhyme or reason.

The first video shows that the truck can't be interacted with, the second that the truck is bugged as soon as it's placed down again, and the last that some nearby yet still unclaimed areas give auth problems that block placement.

After my cart falling through the ground, it appears to have teleported to the surface and become uninteractive. Pushing the cart to a public area and then relogging gives a very brief moment where items can be pulled out. This seems to be a common issue in the recent white tiger playtest discord.

Version: 0.9.5.0 beta staging-2269 Expected Behavior: Should be able to interact with wood carts and such at all times unless they are authorized to you. Actual Behavior: Able to push around the cart even if you are not authorized to it, logging out and logging in on a public road allows for a one time only interaction and beyond that you need to keep restarting

This happens on the latest version too. On a public server. The server did have a couple of mods installed but from previous reports it seems to happen on vanilla too. Currently not able to post logs because the server is down.

From what I can tell anything it could happen to anything that has the RigidBody component(assuming you use Unity's default physics) and could be interacted with. If the object goes into or is placed into a specific area on the world it would become lightweight, and basically invisible to the interaction system. You could interact with objects through it, place objects like rock down through it.

The moment I pushed it out of the affected area it would immediately gain weight again and become interactable again. I tested this with the Steam Truck, Small Wood Cart and a chunk of rock.

I wasn't fully able to find out how big the affected area was but it was pretty large, I'd say atleast 30-40 chunks of plot in width and depth.

EDIT: I had one point in time where the issue didn't happen, which was when I was trying to trigger it repeatedly. But moments later it was back again.
