Feature: Real time marine-traffic

Seeing the real time air traffic I wonder whether it would be possible to render ships, too. Would be super nice but I'd absolutely understand if you have different priorities.

Here is how that looks on a 2D map: https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:9.971/centery:53.543/zoom:16

https://www.aishub.net/ provides free API for real-time marine traffic. It was integrated into Streets GL at some point (a long time ago), but I scrapped it because ships looked ugly. It's hard to make them look nice because for each ship only its dimensions and type are available.

There are also the nice people of openseamap.org which work on marine mapping and bathymetry :+1:

@Matthias84 Do you know if they have an API that Streets GL can use? I see their map https://map.openseamap.org/ but it is not clear what is the source of the data and whether they can provide this data.

AFAIK they have a deal with marinetraffic: https://www.openseamap.org/index.php?id=schiffstracking So they are not at the AIS front, but representing marine infrastructure at OSM. You might find some guys willing to help on boyle rendering rules or contact to AIS providers: http://openseamap.org/index.php?id=mitmachen&L=1
