Gps problem again

Open lovelife17 opened this issue 8 years ago • 19 comments

Google maps and waze works fine without problem. Tomtom and navigon works but not always. I noticed that when i rejailbreak the device works fine. After some period of time they stopped having gps. I have also liblocation installed. Should i need this tweek anymore? Device 6s+ 10.3.3. Ipa version rc1.

Same problem, seems to happen after a few days. 6s / 10.3.1 - can get it to work in some apps if you set location services to 'always' e.g. google maps.

Same, 6S 10.3.2 It might have something to do with carplay, it seems to trigger for me after driving anywhere plugged in.

Reboot and re-jailbreak makes gps work but in a few days it stops working.

try removing liblocation

I didn’t install liblocation. And the term is very random like from 1 day to 3,4days.

I can relate. Same problem on rc1, gps sometimes work and sometimes not. Same with imessage

iOS 10.3.1. IPhone 6 (64 GB) Jailbreak RC2 runs smooth but no GPS for Apple Maps and Navigon Europe, GPSKit and GoogleMaps do work - those two are exactly the only apps which you can set to allow gps location even if the app is not used... The problem is NOT intermittend and I also tried with and without liblocation beeing installed through CYDIA

This is just a problem of the jailbreak. Maybe even the exploit.

Nevermind. What other tweaks do you have installed? I can't get a GPS signal on Apple maps.

vincentlarkin avatar Feb 13 '18 18:02 vincentlarkin

quite a few ;-) -AllInboxFilters, App Admin,APTTimeout, CameraTweak 4,Confirm2Proceed,CrashReporter,Cydia Eraser, FirewallIP7, Flash, FlipConrolCenter,Genesis,GoodWifi, GroupRinger, iAdministrator, iCaughtU Pro, iCleaner Pro, Immortal, mikoto, MinimalHostsBlocker, MTerminal, Nest10 NO PLS Recovery, PC Networking, SafeMode Launcher(although that one stopped working after 3-4 times) Simple PasscodeButtons, Stealth Cam, SwitchService, TSS Saver,Watusi 2, WiCarrier and WiFi Passwords....

The bug that broke location services was fixed a long time ago. I have not encountered any GPS related issues since then.

Put your settings back the way they were, uninstall anything from Cydia related to location, and try again.

what's the best methode to completely remove the jailbreak (w/o loosing 10.3.1) and completely start again ? Deleted all tweeks but gps issue remains...

githubos1 avatar Feb 14 '18 10:02 githubos1

Same issue with Waze. Re-jailbroke via Cydia Installer and everything was fine. To my knowledge, no tweaks interfering with location services.

FOUND the reason for some APPS not receiving gps data.. In my case it was PMP (Protect my Privacy) Cydia app, which crashed my Phone before allowing me to answer the question whether to allow/deny/fake gps coordinates for NAVIGON and some other NAVI apps. I removed PMP later on, but somehow somewhere it left some stuff behind stopping NAVIGON and MAPS to receive gps data. Yesterday I reinstalled PMP and for the beforementioned APPS I was able to complete the request to allow/deny/fake gps data... AND NOW THEY WORK !! Anyhow, in my case and system setup, PMP seem to work perfectly in background, but I can not open the app itself for changes without crashing my phone ! i.e. in order to change earlier made allowances/restrictions I will have to remove and re-install PMP for the moment. Maybe this gives some hint to others with similar issues !!
