Can't read saves created by real hardware

I've tried everything I can think of, but for some reason, GameYob doesn't read my Pokémon Blue save from my computer. It reads saves that it creates, but not ones from my computer. I'm using OpenEmu with the Higan and Gambatte emulators. Save in question here.

Edit: It also can't read the save created by the cartridge, as evidenced by my ripping the save directly from Pokémon Red, after about 3 hours of gameplay on a Super Gameboy. Red save here, both saves here.

Edit 2: Just posted a thread at GBATemp and solved the problem, but I'm still not sure how.
