You forgot to delete things from the Chinese copy-pasta in the table, like row "Zh = J, "ah" vowel. Jahng"

Is it possible that our edits collided? I like a lot of the material here, but I suspect I added a Japanese section while you were writing it. Can you take a look at what I tossed up there and we can work together on what to incorporate? I had initially ignored vowel length as an example as I think you can get pretty close without worrying about it. I think your bit about syllable timing is quite good and concise. I was thinking of avoiding the topic, but now i'd like to incorporate since you described it so succinctly.

also REALLY like the family name - given name point. I wonder if it's also worth tossing in something about the use of -san in any circumstance that isn't explicitly informal if the person is Japanese from Japan and not explicitly a close friend until invited to stop. I feel like I mostly do this in all business contexts and even though not strictly necessary in English, is a pretty good habit.

We must have been writing at the same time! I'm happy for you to take any parts from my version and add them in as you see fit!

It might be worth mentioning something about '-san', although it's another topic like name order where there is no real consistency or right answer.
