Custom Observing List - [Remove Object] removes objects not highlighted
Added an object to a custom observing list by mistake (duplicate entry). Highlight the object and hit [Remove object] button - the highlighted object IS NOT REMOVED - some other object in the list gets removed instead. Current Version 25.1.0 Windows 10, 64 bit, 22H2
Same thing on macOS 15.1, Stellarium 25.1.0
@Pairamount @mszan are you selected object in the list or just highlight one on the sky?
@alex-w For me it was the list.
The object was selected from an observing list
Did you sort the list according to any of the columns? (Looks like RA is sorted.) Not sure if this matters when identifying the entry to discard.
No, the list was assembled based roughly on RA, but was not sorted by RA. Repeating the [Remove object] button will randomly delete items - but never the item that is highlighted
I can't reproduce the issue
I've also tried working around this issue by sorting the list by any column and from what I can tell it doesn't affect the selected entry at all. Not sure if this helps but I'm running my macOS on ARM. Are there any other details I can share so you can reproduce this issue? Some logs, configs?
@mszan could you attach your list?
@alex-w Sure, here. I'm also attaching a short video demonstrating the issue. As you can see, when I'm trying to delete the Moon entry, M 39 is what actually gets deleted.

Thanks! I can confirm the issue now.
Hello @Pairamount!
OK, developers can reproduce the issue. Thanks for the report!
Workaround to prevent losing data: if the user notices that the wrong line was deleted, cancel the dialog (i.e. without saving the list).
Advanced workaround: edit data/observingList.json
this is a high importance issue. it prevents users from managing observing lists, and the unaware will be bitten badly by this bug.
