Secondary monitor issue

Open AlanKilgore opened this issue 2 years ago • 7 comments

I have stellarium installed on a Dell laptop with 1920x1080 res. I also have a secondary monitor attached via HDMI. it's resolution is set to 2048x1152.

Stellarium opens on the secondary monitor but the screen is all white. If I drag the stellarium window to the native screen, it renders correctly, and then when I drag it back to the secondary monitor, it renders correctly.

But that isn't the big issue. any mouse or keyboard events don't update when the window is on the secondary monitor. If i drag the window back to the primary window, the display is updated to whatever I did with the keyboard and/or mouse.

Could you try run Stellarium in OpenGL mode?

How does one run Stellarium in OpenGL mode?

Just try run Stellarium through shortcut without additions (Just "Stellarium").

I tried OpenGL mode and there was not any change in the behavior.

According to the logfile, Stellarium launches in ANGLE mode. This indicates for some reason your NVidia NVS4200M has no OpenGL drivers installed. Did you install NVidia OpenGL drivers for your graphics card?

We cannot do much here but advise on installing drivers for your hardware. I hope 23.2/Qt5 or, after installing drivers, 23.2/Qt6 works for you. We will close this after September 22 if there is no further response.

Hello @AlanKilgore, we need more info and feedback!

The hardware info, steps of reproduction and log file are really important and help us resolve over 90% issues fast. Of course, in some specific cases we need more data, but we ask the required data separately...
