I installed 'glade', built the program with the supplied Makefile, launched it with the supplied script, and it worked perfectly, except for the warning about the kernel, which apparently doesn't actually detect the newer module, which is now included in the kernel sources, and doesn't require a patch.

mprime 64 is running 20C cooler now, so the tpfc works fine on the W541 mobile workstation. When I get time I'll fix the erroneous message about the kernel.
