Hi sri, you are done excellent work. its very useful for me. but small modification need in your example. you are sharing file to all device.

but i need to share file by selecting the connected device. can you please help to do this in your example.

Hi sri,

I have following queries.

  • I expected this app will work like SHAREit. But it's direct opposite. It's creates hotspot from sender side. It would be better, if we create hotspot in reciever side. so, that sender's can choose the receiver for sharing files.
  • This app uses Download manager to download the file. can't we download file within an Application?

I'm looking forward for an update.

@VkyVignesh thanks for your feedback. Reason for switching the roles is to support sharing to multiple receivers simultaneously. But i agree it would be more secure if sender chooses receiver. Planning an update soon, will come up with a better architecture in v2. Writing in-app download manager involves pause,resume stop supports etc which in-turn will be a different library. Nonetheless I'm working on a custom android download manager library to support pause/resume/order along with speed/progress indicators, i can think of integrating the same into SHAREthem file transfers, but honestly ADM is suffice in SHAREthem context.

Hi Sri, I am to not able to execute your project on android studio its not working on my device which has oreo its just having the user layout and it crashes once I select send option.... is there any update for it?

Hi Sri, I wanted to send a pdf file from my phone(Android 7.1.2) to my windows 10 PC. When I tap send and select the file to send it creates a portable hotspot to which I connect my PC. But it doesn't show any IP address in the link which I am supposed to enter in the browser on my PC. It shows the link as "http://:52287" which is not a valid hyperlink. Hence I am not able to receive the file on my PC. How to fix this?

Hi Sri,

When trying to connect with created hotspot, IP address is obtaining continue for long time and it doesn't work. Any idea how to fix this.
