[Feature Request] Support for APNG / WebP Formats for Splash Images

Hello, and thank you for all your hard work on this great project.

I am interested in using high-quality animated images for splash screens. However, current formats like GIF often result in a loss of quality due to limitations such as the 256-color palette and single-color transparency.

I was wondering if it would be possible to add support for modern formats like APNG or WebP for splash images.

These formats offer much better color depth and full alpha channel (translucency) support compared to GIF, which would enable smoother and more visually appealing splash screens. WebP, in particular, also provides more efficient compression, which is beneficial for managing file sizes.

This project is not maintained, the last release was 5 years ago. You're better off looking for an alternative.

@caesay Thanks for the reply. I'd prefer not to use the NSIS method. I'm looking for a good alternative to Squirrel. 😄
