This issue is here to have a dedicated channel for updates specific for spotifyd that we want to let you guys know about. This includes everything: from new releases to updates on specific topics that we feel that everybody has an interest in.

I just merged a PR into master that allows the configuration of the initial volume via a CLI/config value. Hopefully this prevents further hearing loss :)

The project is currently not moving fast as I am waiting for the librespot PR merge before putting in the effort to find and fix some bugs. A lot of times, a librespot update does actually fix a lot of the bugs we encouter, so I'd rather wait.

Developers only: The way our CI and protected branches are configured means that all PRs are hanging and waiting on checks right now. I am currently trying to fix this. I hope I have it done before Christmas! Sorry for the inconveniences! If I can't fix it, I'll disable the procected branches feature for the time being. or at least do not require status checks to pass.

@Spotifyd/maintainers I've changed the protected branch rules. You should be able to merge now without checks passing.
