Discussion from earlier today: how best to add support for describing the contour geometry for non-silicon probes like a Utah array?

Current support as I understand is only for planar geometries described by polygons.

Some ideas as I recall from the discussion were adding planar triangular/conal descriptions like the point of the tip and the height of the cone.

Another option is a full grid mesh? I'd also suggest perhaps allowing any parametric function for describing more nuanced curvature.
