"Could not create a .hoverfly directory" on Windows 10

Open jhorsman opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Description

After downloading hoverfly 1.3.0 and running hoverctl version I get an error message: FATA[0000] Could not create a .hoverfly directory

Steps to reproduce the issue

  • download Hoverfly from https://github.com/SpectoLabs/hoverfly/releases/download/v1.3.0/hoverfly_bundle_windows_amd64.zip
  • unpack to a directory
  • from the same directory run hoverctl version

I did try to create a .hoverfly folder: C:\Users\[username]\.hoverfly. Did not resolve the error.

Observed result

FATA[0000] Could not create a .hoverfly directory

Additional relevant information

Hoverfly version: 1.3.0

This issue has been reported before, years ago with Windows 7. So I do not believe the issue is related to this specific Hoverfly version, or to Windows 10.

I am administrator on my Windows machine. Running the command in an elevated command prompt raised the same error message.
