The game freezes sometimes after ~10 seconds in the game. It's hard to reproduce though.

Can you define "hard to reproduce"? I just tried about 20-30 times, playing 10+ seconds into the actual gameplay and couldn't get it to freeze at all. I tried using the 0.3.0 release, the 0.3.0.31 dev build and my current local version, but no luck.

If you can reproduce it, a save state taken after the freeze might be useful in understanding why the game is freezing.
