[FEATURE REQUEST] Control the app with play, next keyboard touches
It would be easier to control the app without oppening the window each time.
@yekohat which OS?
@jakejarrett First on Windows, then on Linux systems maybe. These keys are compatible on Linux (as Windows) because Spotify support them.
Don't forget Macs as well.
@yekohat They should be supported on Windows/Mac. Linux is currently in progress. I'll test a windows build sometime this weekend when i get a chance.
@Chriz007 Ok ok I should said UNIX systems
@jakejarrett Do you mean that these keys are already supported ? Doesn't work for me :(
@yekohat you should've said POSIX-compliant systems, because Linux + OS X !== UNIX :-)
@wb9688 Oh I tought that POSIX was just a list of standards for UNIX systems. (As Wikipedia says) Ok ok we'll wait his answer,
@yekohat POSIX is a list of standards, so Linux and OS X are POSIX-compliant operating systems. By the way UNIX is an commercial operating system from AT&T...
@wb9688 Thank you, I understand better all theses things :)
@yekohat Keyboard controls work on windows. Some apps can interfere with keyboard shortcuts at times (Chrome with Google Play Music)
@wb9688 It can also be referred to as simply *nix :smile_cat:
@jakejarett I hadn't thinked of that
@jakejarrett Ouch... I tought about that but I think it's not the problem. With just Soundnode opened the keys don't work. Can someone try for me (on Windows 7) ?
@yekohat it works on our school laptops with Windows 8, but I didn't tested it on Windows 7 or 10, because I don't have media keys on the 3 keyboards I have...
On my windows 7 machine it works.
@jakejarrett Hum.. I'll go check what's wrong on my Win7. Thank you for trying, this request became useless (at least for Windows).
@yekohat I can test again after the weekend with the latest build if needed
@yekohat do you have any other application that makes use of media keyboard? is your keyboard "special" like for gamers? can you tell you what keyboard you are using please? thanks.
@jakejarrett No no its ok don't lose time on this :) I'm already creating a Win7 VM to test
@weblancaster I have a Logitech Comfort Keyboard K290, the keys work with Spotify. For testing I closed Spotify and tried the keys on Soundnode but nothing
@yekohat try to do the same thing #705 and see if fixes your issue.
@weblancaster Hi all I was a little busy these days.
Let me explain: On my keyboard, natively, if you dont use the SetPoint software to invert them, the media keys doesn't need to press them with the "Fn" key. That's really not convenient, so I needed the software to invert them, to get an easier acces to F1, F2 ... keys. With this installation, media keys don't work with Soundnode.
So I unistalled SetPoint (it's the Logitech software for keyboards), and the media keys worked with SoundNode ! (without "Fn" combinaison, of course).
I reinstalled SetPoint then the keys didn't worked anymore, inverted or not (with "Fn", as explained on top).
Since this issue was in fact a software conflict, would suggest closing!
