Fix the translation of "in" (inches) in fr, de
Description
de and fr translated "in" as "inside", should be "inches". I removed the wrong translation in french, and marked other translations so that they can be reviewed.
It would be nice to have reviews from @hliebscher, @bistory and @Kappa971...
I don't think there is an abbreviation for inches in Italy.
The translation is pollice (singular) or pollici (plural).
It is not a very used unit of measurement here, it is only used to indicate the size of a screen (like TVs) usually with the abbreviation ″
Same in French, we use cm as the unit, imperial units have no abreviation. So in is "pouce" in singular form and "pouces" in plural form

The original English is abbreviated, so there's no singular/plural distinction. How about adding a period, like "po." or "pol."?
It doesn't mean anything in French. Just use the plural form then : "pouces"

I think the international form is in or ". Maybe it's better to keep the international abbreviated form in.
What window does it appear in? Does it need to be abbreviated?
It doesn't mean anything in French. Just use the plural form then : "pouces"
Maybe there isn't enough space.

The double quote is meaningful in french so I guess we can use that for French translations :-) "po" is only used in Canadian French, not in France, Belgium, Switzerland or Morocco 🙂

I think it would be strange " in that context, I think that in is international and that it is the correct form.
We still don't know the context of that text, can you share us an example? By the way, I don't think "in" is universal in a context where imperial units are not really widely used...

I'm waiting for an answer too. If you write the whole name pollici, then cm should be written as centimetri etc.
By the way, I don't think "in" is universal in a context where imperial units are not really widely used...
From Enciclopedia Treccani
Unità di [misura](https://www.treccani.it/enciclopedia/misura/) di lunghezza del sistema anglosassone
(inch, il cui simbolo è in o ″), che risulta pari a 2,54 cm; è in uso anche in Italia, soprattutto per indicare
le dimensioni dello schermo dei televisori e, in particolare, la diagonale dello schermo stesso.
in is not just an abbreviation but an international symbol that indicates that unit of measurement, like cm, lb, kg, km\h, ecc
It is clear to me now that I approached this all wrong:
- I shoudn't try to fix translations for languages I am not fluent in;
- I shoudn't try to fix multiple languages with a single patch;
I'll revert the change in it (which was correct already), and I'll remove the wrong translations in fr and de, but I'll let the respective translators choose the best path for each language.
Sorry for the mess!

Thanks for pointing us that bad translation, I will see what I can do, but I still don't know how to show a message using that unit 😅
