Heh, same here, just tried downloading and I was like "what's an AppImage doing on my Mac?!"
Here's a link to the page: https://orcaslicer.net/#download-orca-slicer
@ClayShoaf @geerlingguy @DarthGandalf Check the readme: "orcaslicer.net" is NOT an official website for OrcaSlicer. Please don't use the website. Instead use the releases from GitHub
Is it possible to create an "orcaslicer.com" website then, with a simple home page directing people here? Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing, etc. will rank the "orcaslicer.net" results much higher than this GitHub repo (and I'm not sure if they even index Discord yet, so that's not going to appear).
I was told to get OrcaSlicer when I was working on my Positron build. I don't generally like joining a Discord for any reason, and begrudgingly do so when there's not another good support forum or issue queue to join :)
Since orcaslicer.net was the first result, and looked legitimate (at least with my adblocker on, didn't see any egregious advertisements), it was easy enough to get duped. I'd be willing to donate the money to buy a domain, could even set it up as a Google Pages GitHub Pages site for simplicity and to avoid having somewhere to host it...
@geerlingguy I guess it would be possible and if enough people used it it could get to the top of search engines. It might be easier to file a dmca agaist orcaslicer.net though.
Hosting it on Github Pages would be even simpler than Google Pages. But yes, it would be good to have an actual website, even it's just a simple page which points here to github. The fake website doesn't do much else either (currently)

Heh, oops! I meant GitHub Pages, I don't think Google even does their hosting thing anymore!
A quick poke indicates that orcaslicer.net is hosted on, or at least proxied by, Cloudflare. Has anyone filed a DMCA yet? I'd be happy to help in any way possible.
I'd also be happy to help create some sort of official website, that can hopefully displace the fake in the rankings if the DMCA doesn't get rid of it for good.
