**Update:** SoFiA 2 now will include the user parameter settings in the history section of the header of all output FITS files produced by the pipeline (see 8dd0160d0a8df2ef3abd566b1476a01365d7fca4).

NumPy 1.9 would be sufficient to remove all of our current workarounds, so my suggestion would be to only require 1.9 at this stage. 1.10 was released on 6 October...
