Request: Setting restrictions for the movement area.

Open viper0078 opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Often, there are cases where the module collides with the bed during movement along the Z axes. I would like the ability to set the boundary points of the movement area using a touch panel. The idea is to move the head to the desired limit point using touch panel controls and then press a button to set the limit. To ensure the protection of the machine from damage, it is desired to have movement restrictions implemented in the firmware. Separate settings are needed for the laser, 3D printer, and CNC machine, and a button to release the restrictions is also necessary.

This is because when using software other than Luban, a misconfiguration can cause the Z-axis to drop and crash into the bed.

I realized your proposal after I wrote the following improvement request article. Let's definitely request improvements in the touch panel software regarding this matter!

This issue is not only potential but also affects power users. For beginners, the risk is even greater, as they may damage their Snapmaker before even fully enjoying its capabilities, leading them to give up on creating creative projects altogether.

If you agree, please leave a comment.
