Google Default Files not launching Package manager for xapk

I realise setting as default for a particular file type can be difficult. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.nbu.files

Package manager is an option for apks but not xapk

Even if it was an option in the share menu? Could we share the location of the xapk to your Package manager application?

i have faced this too. it seems package manager works for installing split-apks only when this whole process is started from within this package manager
