java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: illegal component position :-(

This is a long-standing bug (apparently already present in versions v4.x, but definitely in all 5.x) and there are several appends regarding it in the forum, so I am a bit astonished that this is not listed as an issue. That's why I took the liberty to "report" it here.

The issue is that misc. SOAP-UI windows - after one has closed or minimized them - can not be opened again or, when opened, only yield an exception with the subject text. This is most annoying (to say the least) and the only "work-around" so far is to stop and restart SOAP-UI. The issue seems to be more prevalent in 2 screen setups and windows where this happens almost "reliably" after closing and reopening them at most twice are the Mock-Detail windows. But other than that I haven't really found any "pattern" so far. It's apparently also such that certain installations have the "effect" seldom only and others almost every time. I have seen v5.7.0 installations that were almost unusable due to this. On my own installation it's currently ok-ish, i.e. happens not very often while on my previous laptop it was really super-annoying. A colleague of mine is currently almost going nuts with this.

Maybe others have found out ways to reproduce this "reliably" or suggestions what could cause this? Or even a fix?
