Feature Request: Include Worm Holes in Route Planning

Open nemesis981 opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

I know goons have a web app called webway that plans a route including worm holes to shorten the travel distance. You are already including Thera info, if the other WH locations can be pulled, just add a checkbox to include WH in the route plans. Is this possible?

If there are api's to pull this data, then this could be included

I don't know that any of the public mapping tools have well-documented APIs. Short Circuit is a tool which fetches data from Tripwire using its refresh endpoint. Tripwire has the ability to define a username and password for authentication which can then be used by external tools; I believe other mapping tools require ESI login. Having the functionality provided by Short Circuit made available in SMT would be wonderful.

I doubt SMT would bind itself to one specific third party API source, especially since that API is per-user/per-corp/per-alliance authentication. However it would be cool if there was a generic feature which people could make use of, such as:

  • Tripwire-API Support where the user enters the URL and Credentials into, SMT then pulls that routes into a text file which represents alternate route options much like Thera. (This text file medium would enable other systems to export for SMT, as well, I imagine)

Just an idea!
