This is really not optional, and shouldn't be hard to do, since you have the F-Droid code, and it is just plain Java JAR signing anyway.

It's not hard but I have really no time to work on personal projects these days so it won't be that easy for me to make it. If you feel adventurous you may want to open a PR ;)
