Higher resolution video downloads

I have SkyTube set to display 1080p videos; but it seems downloads are still stuck at 720p maximum.

I would really like the ability to download videos at 1080p, 1440p and even higher due to how YouTube's compression works. That, combined with people like myself who's internet speeds are barely able to handle 1080p streaming would make this a very worthwhile addon.

I would appreciate that option too. And I think I have a tidbit of insight to bring.

For higher resolutions, YouTube distributes audio and video separately, players need to download two streams at the same time. Tools that intend to download the video need to merge the two streams together; youtube-dl uses FFmpeg for that for example.

The main problem with higher resolutions, is that Youtube only provides 360P and 720P videos, where the audio and video is already mixed. For higher resolution, we would need to download 2 separate file - one for the audio content and one for the video content. So this is a bit trickier.
