Log in with a youtube account?

Is there a way to log in with a youtube account in order to access one's subscriptions?

Alternatively, is there a way to subscribe a channel from within SkyTube?

There are 2 ways which allows you to subscribe to a channel:

  1. While watching a video, click/swipe on the (i) icon (bottom-left) and then click on the subscribe button (refer to https://i.imgur.com/675tP9J.png)
  2. Open a channel, then click on the Subscribe button (top-right: refer to https://i.imgur.com/mA4xgNG.jpg).

There is currently no way to log in to a YouTube account, although this feature might be implemented in the future.

Now that SkyTube supports custom API keys, is it possible to add support for personal YouTube account access? I confess, I don't see any other reason for the implementation of custom API keys. I created and added an API key; I haven't encountered any errors, but I haven't seen any features enabled or any changes in SkyTube behavior after adding the custom key.

@rmenessec By inputting a custom key, you get more accurate channel results and you also reduce the load on the shared API keys (as each key comes with a limited number of units that are renewed each and every day). In the future, I'll add an option to login which can be used to retrieve YT channels, submit comments...etc.

I don't want to stress anyone here, but the option is still in the planning phase, isn't it? Is there already something new on the subject?

I personally would like to be able to subscribe, like and comment. So everything syncron with my Google account

Especially now that YouTube vanced is gone, I did like actually be able to sign in with my YouTube account to do things. Looking at the alternatives all of them use local accounts instead of legitimate YouTube accounts.

I'd be very appreciative if you could log in and get your personalized youtube feed and/or recommendations from the app. I don't have google play services on my phone and so my only other option is the terrible mobile browser site without dislikes, sponsorblock, or an adblocker.
