SkyTube v2.981 no video playback [same issue as v2.980(40)]

I am using SkyTube from the very 1st day it is created. Thanks to the SkyTube Team for such great software and for Legacy Device/OS support.

This is my 1st issue booking.

Device:- Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3100. Android version:- 4.1 (Jelly beans) Factory Original OS. SkyTube 2.980 (40) stopped YouTube video playback on 15.04.22. On 16.04.22 new version released v2.981. After installing v2.981 it appears the issues is unresolved. Still no YouTube video playback! Please resolve as soon as possible.

[Also requesting for release new versions frequently, because some days after a release new video playback glitches started to happen, some videos just doesn't get played, but after a new SkyTube update they played back smoothly].

Hi. Same here. A problem with the fDroid version The Extra version works though :)

For android 4.3 car head unit, same issue: doesn't play videos from youtube.

First, thanks to everyone for your kind replies. Yes. I have tried both before lodged the issue. Even I have changed the default player to other available options (inside settings) to make it work. Unfortunately nothing worked for me!

The difference only is that extra version has the option to use the youtube player. Since I'm using Android 4.3 (not by choice), and youtube no longer works in 4.3, the extra version doesn't fix the issue at all.

However, when switching to Official Player video does play with Advertisements.

That's because the official player is the youtube player. So as long as your youtube player is working, it will work.

Yeah... Only Android 5.1 and up. Not sure about Android 4.4 though.

default player hangs after few seconds on LIVE streams....i had error giving overflow end time..hope this helps...the official player defeats the objective because returns all the bs we are trying to remove..
