I can reproduce the first bug (save not working) on pixelfed.social; but my alt text loaded normally.
I am testing this bug and also get it on the web app. On the mobile app, for me the follow button is always replaced with a Follow Request Pending...
Mine is also on v0.12.5 - when I press follow it works and updates the followers count but the button only changes after a refresh. That could be unrelated, and...
@GiantCrocodile it's not released yet. Once it is, you will be able to switch to try it out.

That's very strange. Would you be able to attach screenshots of where it works and where it doesn't? Also, what server are you on (last part of your username)?
Ok I know what the issue is now! (if you are using dark mode?) Some accounts (like every 3rd or 4th profile) require verification before they allow a follow, but...
