Sending a grouped SMS creates multiple conversations and some of them are allocated to an unknown SIM

Hello:

Steps to reproduce:

  • Under a mobile phone with dual SIM, create a conversation with 2 different recipients and send an SMS to them using SIM number 1
  • If you don't have previously a conversation with the recipients, it automatically creates 2 new conversations (without deleting the group's one), one conversation for each recipient => maybe is this the normal behavior, so that you can follow each message sent independently and you keep the group conversation if you want to reuse it - it is OK for me
  • If you open one of the independent conversation created (or updated?), the sent SMS is displayed under SIM number "?" => you forget the information of the SIM used if you don't keep the group conversation

what app version is that? Do you have group message sending as MMS enabled in the app settings?

Hi:

I recently had to send a new grouped SMS under the last version 5.15.0 and there seems to be another related issue: in the conversation containing the 2 recipients, the SMS sent is flagged as "not sent, tap here to try again" (not sure of the exact message in English but it's the message in red that appears when a sending aborts). But in fact the SMS were well sent and the sub-conversations are well created, with each of them containing the same SMS flagged with the double thick meaning "correctly sent" (but still with a "?" as the SIM card number). Do I need to open a separate case for this issue or will they be studied together?

Thanks in advance!

I experienced this issue (or at least I think I did) with v5.16.1.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start with three conversations: one with person A, one with person B, and a group conversation with A and B.
  2. Send a message in the group conversation.

Expected result: a message only appears in group conversation. Actual result: a message appears in all three conversations. I know the recipients at least received the messages in the DM ones. Not sure yet if they received the chats in the group one.

Group conversations still not working as of version 15.18.1. Messages sent in a group conversation are individually sent to recipients.
