Android preferred SIM setting not respected

Open lbschenkel opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

(I have a Google Pixel 6.)

Android has a setting that allows you to define which SIM card is the preferred one for SMS. Mine is set to SIM 2. However, the app always defaults to SIM 1 when composing new messages.

Ideally, it should default to the preferred SIM card for the first message on a conversation, and to the SIM card used to send the last message otherwise.

I do confirm this misbehaviour. Samsung M23 (Android 12), version 5.15.0 from F-Droid. With this feature missing I cannot use this app, even as i would prefer it over other bloatware. Sim card place switch is unfortunately not an option.

Correcting my suggestion: the default SIM in a conversation should be, in order of preference:

  1. the one selected by the user when sending the last message
  2. the same one from which the message was received from
  3. the default one for SMS from Android settings

This matches what other SMS apps do.
