Notifications of already read messages

I have a bug that will repeatedly notify me of a message after I've already read it. These notifications can happen minutes to weeks after the last one. It only happens to group chat messages and only affects one message at a time with the bug, the bug also persists through me turning off and on my phone.

If it helps I'm running android 11, Version 5.9.4 of the app, and I downloaded the app through F-Droid.
