Feature Request: Archive conversations

Open yannicka opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

It would be nice to be able to archive a discussion. An archived discussion would no longer be displayed in the main list, and would still be accessible via another screen (or via a "Show archived conversations" setting). If a new message is received in a conversation, it would be automatically "unarchived".

I am not naïve enough to assume this is a simple feature to add in, but it would be really useful for so many of the Signal users looking for an SMS app now that Signal has announced their plans to drop SMS/MMS support.

I would this as well.

While I want to keep my SMS messages, I like to keep my inbox clean of those conversations I rarely use.

So... +1 to this!!!

+1 i suppose a hidden tag could be added to the archived sms, and those tagged to be only visible in a different activity view. (not an android developer). this will need also a button to archive next to trash icon and also a new entry "archived" in the dots menu that opens the archived activity view. also search should independently find smses in each of the 2 actovities, depending where it is issued

That feature would be useful indeed! Is this considered by the core developers?

I was going to write a new Issue for this feature, but I see this one has been proposed already.
