voicemail attachments handled badly

This is what a voice message attachment (sent by my telco's missed-call service) looks like:

Tapping on it offers me the opportunity to play the attachment in the three audio players I have installed. Unfortunately, none of them are able to. I suspect the file being passed to the player is as mangled as the attachment preview is. If only I could save the attachment(s) to investigate further... *glances sideways at #106*

If SMIL is anything like MIME, then it ought to be possible to view all the message parts (arranged in a tree) individually.

For comparison, the stock LG SMS app displays the attachment below the message body/part:

Came here to create an Issue when I noticed this one.

Still an issue in 2022, and still annoying. Any ETA for when we can expect a fix for this? @tibbi
