Feature request: adjust keyboard width and/or split it in two

Would it be possible to allow adjusting keyboard width, in particular in landscape mode? Current mobile phones are quite narrow which makes it difficult to thumb-type – particularly so in languages requiring special keys.

However, as many phones currently are very tall (=very broad in landscale mode), just a keyboard adjustable in width might not be te ultimate. solution. Thumbs not long enough! So possibly one would just need to split the keyboard in two.
