Gestures for switching between apps don't work when simple-gallery is in foreground

I have gestures navigation enabled on my realme 7 pro android 12 stock rom, so the navigation bar is hidden in my phone. When I'm on simple-gallery app neither swiping up from the bottom to show the list of open apps nor swiping left-right to switch between apps work.

This happens only when on simple gallery app (6.28.1 version). You can see for yourself playing the attached videos:
