Pixelated .png images

Whenever I zoom into a larger .png file, I get a very pixelated view. When I use Camera Roll it works (but that app has a problem with .gif files: https://github.com/kollerlukas/Camera-Roll-Android-App/issues/246).

I run the latest Simple Gallery v 6.19.1 Pro, installed from F-Droids on an Android 8.1 phone.
