Problems with File Editor

Open Spike-from-NH opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

On 6.15.2, I was enthused to see File Manager has a way to edit text files. But— •Text area doesn't resize when the soft keyboard appears; last part of a long file is hidden under the keyboard. •[ ]left-arrow [should have the same dialog as BACK button rather than] discard work with no warning. •Can always invoke it with "Edit as > Other file" but "Edit as > Text file" and "Edit with" don't show it as an option and sometimes claim there is no suitable app. •If you remember which app I select to examine a certain file type, [would prefer] a way to cancel this selection [more granular than resetting all file associations in Apps]. [Edited based on feedback below]

•I see no way to save edits; BACK key and left-arrow both discard work with no warning.

There is a confirmation dialog on back key press. Also, you can always use a "Save as" button (the one with floppy icon).

•If you remember which app I select to examine a certain file type, I need a way to cancel this selection.

You can reset it in the system's app info in Open by default.

BTW. It would be better if you'd raise separate issue for each problem. The only thing they have in common is text editor, but they are separate bugs.

Points well-taken, Aga-C. [I've edited my bug report above.]
