No calls when Simple Dialer is the default dialer

Open muxina-credo opened this issue 2 years ago • 10 comments

When I set Simple Dialer as the default dialer I can't initialize any call. The screen just prompts the number I'm calling and nothing happens.

It is odd because I was using this app some versions ago (around December) and it worked fine. I've tried downgrading to older version but it fails with an unknown error.

I'm running version 5.17.3 on Android 11. My phone is a Moto E32.

you mean outgoing calls or incoming ones have issues too?

The incoming calls are fine. It's the outgoing ones that freeze.

can you send a screenshot of the frozen screen? Havent you enabled call confrmation dialog where you have to click the phone icon?

you have issues with casual phone numbers too or just special codes like this?

There is this issue in all outgoing calls. I just used this code so I wouldn't show my contacts details online

Update: With the recent update 5.17.5 the issue still persists. The only difference is that previously when I tried to make a call and I quit it, a notification would remained in the notification tab as if the call was still attempting to connect. Pressing the red phone icon wouldn't work, it would only disappear after reboot. Now I can quit the notification by pressing the red phone icon.

Update: With the recent update 5.17.8 the issue is almost solved. The only problem now is when I start a call it seems that the original problem is still present. I have to slide down the notification tray and click on the call notification. Than it prompts me to choose the sim to use in a call. I need to click two times on the sim I want and then the call resumes.

Issues pending: Make sim choice pop-up automatic. Make so that it takes only one click to select the appropriate sim.

Update(5.18.0): Now if I call one of the contacts in the list of my previous calls it works perfectly. That is, I just click the contact once, then I choose my sim once and the call proceeds.

Issues pending: Nevertheless, if enter the Simple Dialer and then change to the contacts tab the same bug happens. That is, I need press the call notification to choose the sim and proceed with the call. I've tried doing the same through entering the Simple Contacts Pro and the same bug happens.

Update(5.18.1): The issue persists.

Issue: If I call someone from the Call history the behavior is the expected one. There is a sim card prompt; I choose the SIM; The call starts. If call someone from the Contacts tab there is no automatic prompt; I have to press the call in the notifications slide-down menu for the prompt to appear; I have to select my SIM repeatedly three times; the call starts.
