No calling screen while dialing a SOS number with the help of device gesture

Open JayKx opened this issue 2 years ago • 5 comments

One of my device has a feature of dialing local SOS number when you press power button thrice. The problem is when I do this, a call goes to local emergency number but there's no call display. You can not see if the call is going on or not unless you hear it in the speaker.

This device runs android 9 and I have disabled original google phone app which comes by default. With default app there's no problem.

This has happened with me too (Dialer 5.18.0 from F-Droid) on Android 12. After this, I have disabled the 5 click emergency call functionality in Android.

The situation is even worse, there is no call display when I call the emergency number directly with the app. (I admit this is hard to test legally 😁)

I experienced the same issue earlier today on Version 5.18.1 from fdroid on Android 13 when calling 112 manually from the app.

Not knowing if an emergency call is working or not is extremely scary.
