3rd Party App Caller ID Support

The Google Phone app offers a feature to query 3rd Party apps for caller ID. Are there any plans to support this feature?

I dont understand this, what is the usecase here? Arent those casual contacts?

The use case is that other apps installed on the phone can provide additional caller ID. There are cases where it is not desired to store contacts in the personal address book, e.g.:

• Customer Database: lets the user (small businessman) store his customers separated from the private contacts with additional features (voucher and appointment assignment)
• Some big corporations have their own apps which shows contact information of all employees and/or customers. As those data updates regularly, it is not reasonable to manually enter/import it into the normal (personal) address book.
