Missing contacts in simple-dialer contact's list
Hello i sync all my contacts (340) via Davx5 and Nextcloud. They all appear in simple-contact but not on simple-dialer (only 297/340).
try figuring out what do those missing contacts have in common. What app version of Simple Contacts and Simple Dialer are you using?
simple-contacts pro 6.15.1 and simple-dialer 5.8.0. Yes i have to investigate with the missing contacts.
No filter (340 in nextcloud and 340 in simple-contacts). I start to look witch contacts are missing and for me it's difficult to find something common between the missing contacts. They all appear in native dialer app (google).
maybe some duplicate ones? Like contacts with the same name. Or check the app settings, if you havent enabled displaying only contacts with phone numbers.
No duplicates in my contact list. I haven't enabled only contacts with phone numbers and most of the missing contacts have phone numbers. Thanks you for trying to solve this problem.
I experience this with v. 5.15.0 from Fdroid store. DavX5 synched contacts from Nextcloud are correctly shown in the Contacts app (v. 6.21.0 Pro from the same store).
I think this issue is solved with v5.18.1
I have just rechecked in my daily-driver phone.
I still observe this with Simple Dialer v. 5.18.1 and Simple Contacts v 6.22.7 Pro, both from the F-Droid app store.
My contacts are in my private Nextcloud instance.
As an example, for a contact of my I find three different entries in the Contacts app:
- one for the Nextcloud saved contact;
- one for the Telegram contact;
- one for the Whatsapp contact.
For the same person, in the Dialer app I just have one entry, for telegram.
Same here, except that there are no contacts shown at all. The stock Android dialer app displays them properly.
Android Version: 14 App version: 5.1.18 OS: GrapheneOS

In my case, contacts are synced via webdav from Nextcloud. No local contacts on the phone itself. @igor-cali @Npa972 same on your end?

Yes for me. Using DAVx5 Android App to sync.
