Contacts created on a SIM card get deleted on phone restarting
Hi Tibor,
just a remark: Creating USIM only contacts with Simple-Contacts, dual sim in my case, for both sim cards, works fine on my lenovo, Android 6.0. Surviving reboots :-)
ye I couldnt reproduce it on my devices either, but several people reported it already.
The problem also extends to contacts I want to delete from my SIM card. At first it appears as if the deletion was accepted and acted, but when I restart my device, after a minite or two, the deleted contact reappears. Maybe it doesn't have to do with only adding contacts to the SIM card, but editing data on the SIM altogether ? Can such a permissiwn be revoked by a device ? Does the app detect when a SIM card is full ? Does it verify if the changes have actually been applied or does it assume they have been ?
my device is a Sony Xperia D2203
I dont really care if it is on a sim card or not, Im not doing anything differently. Do other Contact apps work fine? I dont mean the stock preinstalled one, but some that you download from playstore.

I've wrote at first that I've never made this experience. But I in the meantime I had it once. And only once: Put a second Sim in my dual sim phone, several contacts predefined on Sim, telco default. Added two own contacts, deleted all not needed default contacts. Detected a while after that, that my own two contacts disappeared, while the default contacts reappeared. I'm NOT able to reproduce anymore, whatever I try. Got at first the idea that might be related to a) airplane mode or b) disabling the secondary Sim manually, as it takes a while until simple contacts "detects" that the contacts are "gone" when secondary sim is not available. But, as said, not reproducible for me anymore. Plus, I was affected with an older version of simple contacts, upgraded at least once or twice.

@tibbi i don't know any i can trust, except for Simple Contacts :p any pp you can recommand ?
Im not really familiar with other apps, just with the preinstalled google one. Just search for "Contacts" and try out some popular one. You can also check if it is saving under the same contact source as in Simple Contacts. I mean the last field at the "Create new contact" screen.
I tried other apps, and the problem seems to come from my SIM card, which allows deleting contacts, but not writing new ones. I'll look for answers elsewhere on the interwebz'.
Now on SimpleContacts 6.1.1.
Strange new aspect of this bug: I've a new prepaid simcard, shipped with a couple of unneeded/unwanted contacts stored on this sim. As always I'm deleting these contacts, as they're polluting my addressbook.
Now I've seen that although contacts deleted and have been not visible anymore in SimpleContacts, they REAPPEAR again, after reboot.
I'll try now to delete some of them again with SimpleContacts, and some others with stock contacts app. WIll post the results after the next reboot.
Tested with 6.3.0 (F-Droid)
As described by me for 6.1.1, the "reappear" issue still exists.
