RMC14 Flora

Open astriloqua opened this issue 7 months ago • 1 comments

Description

I needed some good bushes for Setrina. Might aswell thought to port the entire flora base RMC14 has. Images under media. All serialized just fine locally. It also features the standard three-type flowers and bushes as entities over decals, which I personally vibe more with. Decals should still exists for those wishing to use it. All assets are CC-BY-SA-3.0, code-base taken from is MIT. Just cherry-picked so original authors still get credit.

Walkthrough

A comprehensive set of YAML files has been introduced, defining a wide variety of flora entities for a simulation or game. These include detailed hierarchies for bushes, grasses, flowers, rocks, boulders, trees, cacti, and more, with abstract bases, destructible mechanics, sprite variations, and biome-specific adaptations.

Changes

Files/Groups Change Summary
.../Entities/Objects/Misc/bushes.yml Added abstract and concrete entities for bushes, grasses, flowers, rocks, stumps, and an alien bush.
.../Entities/Structures/Flora/boulder.yml Added destructible large boulder entities with variants for size and appearance.
.../Entities/Structures/Flora/tallgrass.yml Added tall grass entities with biome-specific variants (Desert, Ice, Jungle) and modular structure.
.../Entities/flora.yml Added base and concrete entities for palms, plants, rocks (destructible/indestructible), and boulders.
.../Entities/Structures/Flora/Grass/desert_grass.yml Added light and heavy desert grass entities with numerous sprite state variants.
.../Entities/Structures/Flora/Trees/trees.yml Added abstract and concrete tree entities, including snow, large, conifer, and alien variants.
.../Entities/Structures/Flora/cactus.yml Added cactus entities with multiple visual variants.

Poem

In the gardens of Tau Ceti, new flora now arise,
Bushes, cacti, grasses tall—each a treat for the eyes.
Boulders stand sturdy, trees reach for the sky,
Alien and earthly, their sprites never shy.
Well-ordered and robust, not a Sol mess in sight—
This code’s parade-ground ready, a Biesel officer’s delight!

    • Open a follow-up GitHub issue for this discussion.
  • Files and specific lines of code (under the "Files changed" tab): Tag @coderabbitai in a new review comment at the desired location with your query. Examples:
    • @coderabbitai explain this code block.
    • @coderabbitai modularize this function.
  • PR comments: Tag @coderabbitai in a new PR comment to ask questions about the PR branch. For the best results, please provide a very specific query, as very limited context is provided in this mode. Examples:
    • @coderabbitai gather interesting stats about this repository and render them as a table. Additionally, render a pie chart showing the language distribution in the codebase.
    • @coderabbitai read src/utils.ts and explain its main purpose.
    • @coderabbitai read the files in the src/scheduler package and generate a class diagram using mermaid and a README in the markdown format.
    • @coderabbitai help me debug CodeRabbit configuration file.
