Invidious redirection doesn't work anymore

Open mrwormo opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Hi, I run Privacy Redirect since long time in Firefox on Linux without problems. Since few days, redirect to invidious instances doesn't work anymore, while other redirections still working.

Firefox says :

Address has not been recognized Firefox does not know how to open this address because one of the following protocols (https) is not associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.

I tried to uninstall and install it again, but it still not working.

Hi did you try to build it from the source?

I had some limited luck with building from source, but I had to use a slightly newer version of FF (cause developer build is needed for unsigned plugins). Tried using the 96.0b3 developer instead of my current 0.95 on linux 64. After realizing my mistakes I downloaded devloper 95, but it'd still self-identify as 96.0b3 after unpacking.

The source build initially worked, but then I've loaded my profile and it stopped working. Tried disabling other extensions and was getting the same error.

Eventually I figured out disabling "Use freetube over invidious when possible" and picking one of the invidious instances fixes this problem for me in 0.95 with the signed privacy-redirect from addons.mozilla.org.
