There's a reason why it was added and then removed...
To add something a bit more constructive, it seems like the `fprintd-clients`'s dependency of `systemd-libs` is the reason why this doesn't support distro's like Artix/Void Linux.
I've tried the edited version and it does get further, but not far enough on my system. One of the dependencies seems to be `dbus-python`.
Created my own edited version [on the AUR](https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/python-fildem), with one which builds it [from the main branch](https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/python-fildem-git) instead of from the latest tag.
