angles (heading, yaw, pitch, roll) are lacking a frame of reference and a range

Ultimately, the question is: what is the current software doing ?

For the range: the spec should say if the angles can be given in any range (i.e. 10*pi is acceptable), or if it should be in ]-pi; pi] or [0, 2pi[, ...
