Waveguide not selected errors

When selecting the "guiding shape" rather than the PCell itself, we get an error that a waveguide is not selected.

Work-around: If you click on the object repeatedly, you will see on the bottom left it will cycle between instance and path. you want "instance" selected, not path.

Solution: code should check if it is a guiding shape, and if so, find the pcell.
