Same thing happens with glx backend in i3. I am on nvidia drivers. [compfy](https://github.com/allusive-dev/compfy) does not have the problem in my testing.

I think this may be related to my issue #387, especially if KDE media player also uses playerctl under the hood.

+1 I don't think keycodes would be very hard to add and would add immense value to many people.
