Unable to Generate Storefront Token

I have created a public app as a sales channel. After adding the sales channel to the store, I am trying to generate a storefront token, but I keep on encountering this error with a 403 code:

"errors": "Token must be eligible to manage storefront tokens."

Can anyone please help me how to fix this?
