The app couldn’t be loaded This app can’t load due to an issue with browser cookies.

I cloned this repo. When I run the app locally I am able to connect to it in a shopify store by pointing to ngrok.

However, when I host the app on heroku I see the following error when I try to install the app. When I go to install the app it redirects several times between heroku/auth and heroku/auth/callback.

The app couldn’t be loaded

This app can’t load due to an issue with browser cookies. Try enabling cookies in your browser, switching to another browser
, or contacting the developer to get support.

This video suggests that this cookies issue should already be resolved: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vq0aWTaJDAY&ab_channel=ShopifyDevs

Hello Sir,

This issue could be appearing due to your session store not working properly... you may not be saving/loading session correctly, I just had this issue today for similar reason :-)

It's not clearly stated in the general documentation, but I got mine to work by looking at the README for Heroku even though I'm not using Heroku.

Make sure to include a shop query parameter to your URL. https://my-app-name.herokuapp.com/api/auth?shop=my-dev-shop-name.myshopify.com

Also, if you're using the default session storage SESSION_STORAGE: new Shopify.Session.MemorySessionStorage(), then you can only run one instance of the app. Otherwise the session might not be accessible.

We are closing this issue because it has been inactive for a few months. This probably means that it is not reproducible or it has been fixed in a newer version. If it’s an enhancement and hasn’t been taken on since it was submitted, then it seems other issues have taken priority.

If you still encounter this issue with the latest stable version, please reopen using the issue template. You can also contribute directly by submitting a pull request– see the CONTRIBUTING.md file for guidelines

Thank you!
